With the onset of winter at our indoor environment becomes a focus for hygiene and health which will see us through the cold and flu season when we are most suseptible to viral infections.
Have you had your flu shots? This alternative may be a great choice for those of you often exposed to bacterial infection or in situation which may expose you to situation involving bacteria.
For those with young families your best defence will be to improve on personal hygiene standard immediately and make sure that you and your children don't get a chill. When the body has to do into defense against the cold air without our modern comforts to help. The body becomes stressed and begins to get a chill, if the body has to expend energy on keeping warm unnecessarily it will have less time and energy for other functions. So keep warm.
Hand hygiene will also help to improve your chances of avoiding infection. Use hand sanitiser after hand washing to reduce the transference of bacteria from one area to another.
Household surfaces will also need to be attended to and kept disinfected. You can use a multi-purpose product with anti-bacterial products and wipe table tops, door handles, light switches, keyboards and bins regularly. These little additional efforts will help to reduce bacteria in the home on surfaces and therefore help to improve your chances of staying well over the winter season.
If you are a sensitive type or an eco-type you can use alternative methods to disinfect and reduce your chances of being unwell too. These methods might include aromatherapy, air-purifiers, organic oils, organic cleaning products and non-toxic cleaners to improve your homes air quality and reduce surface bacteria.
